What this video covers
Matt and Kristen clear overgrown vegetation along a municipal road easement bordering their rainforest property in Puerto Rico to improve visibility and deter illegal animal dumping. After spending eight to nine hours manually clearing vines and brush with a hoe, they uncover an additional five to eight feet of road width and a previously obscured chain-link fence. The couple explores the property to map boundaries and identify terrain features, discovering a ground-fed spring, or manantial, and a 60-foot-tall palm tree. They assess the land’s drainage and topography by hand to plan future construction and potential pasture development for livestock. The property also contains mature coffee trees and plantains, which require pruning or specialized harvesting tools due to their height. To address the recurring issue of abandoned kittens, the pair plans to install signage and maintain a cleaner road frontage. They are currently managing the health of rescued kittens with upcoming veterinary appointments for vaccinations and spaying.
