What this video covers

The Great Chesapeake Bay Schooner Race 2024 involves a fleet of traditional sailing vessels competing in a long-distance event across the Chesapeake Bay. The race route typically spans from Annapolis, Maryland, to Norfolk, Virginia, testing the crews' ability to navigate the bay's variable wind conditions and tidal currents. Participants manage sail trim and tactical positioning to maintain speed through the shipping channels and open water. The event highlights the performance of schooner rigs under various points of sail and emphasizes the coordination required for racing large, heavy-displacement wooden or steel-hulled boats. No specific technical data, race results, or vessel-specific performance metrics appear in the provided text.
