What this video covers

Sam Holmes and crew navigate a sailboat through the C&D Canal and toward Delaware and Cape May, managing light winds, strong currents, and engine cooling issues. The crew clears a clogged sea strainer after debris in the Pesapeak restricts water flow to the engine. To conserve fuel and manage tidal windows, they anchor during unfavorable currents and time passages to coincide with favorable tides. The boat’s foredeck is cleared of a rigid dinghy, replaced by an inflatable model to improve visibility and workspace for reefing. Electrical maintenance includes replacing cabin lights with LED bulbs. The crew navigates around numerous crab pots and fish traps while monitoring fuel levels, eventually securing six gallons of diesel at a fuel dock. The transit includes stops at a local marina and a free city dock. The journey concludes with plans to continue sailing east toward Vinalhaven, Acadia, and Roke Island in Maine.
