What this video covers
Lauren Landers docks her boat in a St. Lucia marina to prepare for a period of storage while she travels.Watch The process requires a med-style mooring, where the vessel is backed toward the dock to secure a stern line while simultaneously attaching a bow line to a mooring ball.0:25 Because the maneuver is difficult to execute single-handed, she requests assistance from marina staff to handle the lines.0:18 While the boat is docked, she performs maintenance tasks, including pickling the watermaker to prevent membrane damage and scrubbing barnacles from the dinghy hull.7:22 During her stay, an unauthorized individual boards the boat at night to retrieve a cat from the water, using her paddleboard for the rescue.12:08 Although the intruder’s intent is benevolent, the incident highlights security concerns for a solo sailor.12:59 She secures the vessel, arranges for professional cleaning and waxing services, and prepares to leave the boat in the marina.15:19
