What this video covers

The crew of a 40-foot sailboat installs a wall-mounted Daewoo mini washing machine to eliminate the need for manual laundry and shore-based laundromats.0:13 After sourcing the unit from the Netherlands and shipping it to St. Martin, they mount the machine on a bulkhead in the engine bay area, ensuring access to the generator remains unobstructed.0:24 Installation requires drilling mounting holes through the bulkhead using a masonry bit and plumbing the unit into the existing galley cold-water line using a T-piece.13:47 The drain hose is routed through the floor and into the engine bay to discharge into the bilge.10:44 Initial testing reveals minor leaks in the supply line, which are resolved by replacing a damaged hose and O-ring.13:14 The machine operates on a small-load capacity, requiring frequent cycles, but provides a significant increase in self-sufficiency for off-grid living.15:32 Proper planning of plumbing connections and verifying bulkhead space for the unit's footprint are essential for a successful installation.
