What this video covers

After a four-day passage from Lanzarote to Porto Santo, the 38-ft sailboat Regina arrived in the harbor to undergo maintenance at the local boatyard. The transit covered significantly more distance than planned due to a diversion to assist another vessel with autopilot issues, which involved a mid-ocean transfer of a spare compass. Throughout the trip, the crew encountered large quantities of floating vegetation, likely seaweed, and relied heavily on the engine for three of the four days due to light winds. A brief period of stronger pressure allowed for speeds up to 7.5 knots, despite a fouled hull. During the passage, a mainsail batten car broke; the crew performed a temporary repair using a small shackle. Upon arrival in Porto Santo, the vessel moored to a buoy in the harbor, as the marina was full. The skipper utilized an Garmin inReach to receive twice-daily weather reports from a shore-based contact. The boatyard in Porto Santo offers extensive haul-out facilities, which the owner intends to use for bottom work.
