#62 Arrival on one engine!!!

What this video covers

A catamaran crew sailing from Rodney Bay, Saint Lucia, to the Pitons experiences a significant fuel leak caused by a detached breather hose on the fuel tank. The loose hose allows approximately 35 to 40 liters of diesel to spill into the engine bilge. The engine subsequently stalls during the passage, forcing the crew to complete the final approach to their mooring on a single engine. After securing the boat, the crew filters the contaminated fuel through clean rags before returning it to the tank. To address the engine stalling, the captain bleeds the fuel injectors to remove air trapped in the system. Permanent repairs involve securing the breather hose with resin to prevent future detachment. The crew notes that the engine now runs reliably at 1,500 to 2,000 RPM. Proper maintenance of fuel tank breather hoses prevents significant bilge contamination and engine failure during coastal passages.
