They secure the dinghy with a bike cable lock to prevent loss during transit. During a subsequent departure, they sail off the anchor in light winds and encounter a five-knot tidal current that forces the boat 30 degrees off course. They navigate the current by adjusting their heading to drift toward their destination rather than fighting the flow.
