What this video covers
Micha and Antje, sailing in Greenland, encounter a persistent polar bear that repeatedly approaches their boat and equipment. The bear raids their fishing net, stealing several salmon, and later investigates their kayak and stand-up paddleboard.0:52 To deter the animal, the crew employs warning shots, a loud air horn, and physical barriers like fenders and anchors around the boat.4:40 During a hike on a nearby peninsula, the pair unexpectedly finds themselves within 10 meters of the bear while distracted by drone filming.13:25 They execute a tactical retreat down a snowfield and across rocky terrain to reach their small craft, successfully evading the animal while neighbors from a Welsh vessel observe and record the encounter.18:12 The crew subsequently removes their fishing gear from the water to avoid further attracting wildlife and maintains a constant watch with firearms and flares.2:08 The experience highlights the necessity of vigilance and the risks of wildlife interactions in Arctic regions.
