A ROUGH START...Things Didn’t Go As Planned 😳 Sailing Vessel Delos Ep. 514

What this video covers
After ten days of maintenance in a boatyard in Raiatea, French Polynesia, the crew relaunched SV Delos using a tractor and trailer. During the splash, an open water maker manifold caused the boat to take on water. Once afloat, the crew attempted to maneuver to a slip, but the bow thruster failed immediately upon activation, causing a total loss of electrical power and instrumentation. The crew regained control by starting the generator to charge the battery bank, which restored power to the systems. Post-launch repairs included clearing a clogged head hose and troubleshooting the air conditioning units. The crew also successfully taught their daughter, Sierra, to snorkel in the local waters. The experience highlights the necessity of verifying all through-hull fittings and battery system health before relaunching a vessel after a long-term haul-out.
