What this video covers

Sinomar Godois Tavares, a retired Brazilian sailor planning a transatlantic crossing, has registered on Apoise, a Brazilian crowdfunding platform, to fund the international leg of his intercontinental sailing project.0:12 His pension of just over $700 a month leaves little margin once Caribbean island visas — ranging from $100 to $200 per person — are factored in; two visas alone consume more than half his monthly income before accounting for engine oil, maintenance, and fuel, all priced in dollars.0:54 He is asking supporters for R$10 to R$20 per month, calculating that 500 backers at R$10 each would generate R$5,000 and resolve his travel budget.1:36 In exchange, he commits to one edited video per week — roughly eight hours of work per upload — plus daily Instagram photos.2:10 Promised rewards include a New Year's Eve berth aboard his sailboat anchored off Copacabana beach in Rio de Janeiro, and day-sail spots anywhere in Brazil or the Caribbean.3:10 Departure is expected within three weeks.3:55
