The Balance 540 is a 16.6-meter cutter-rigged catamaran with twin daggerboards, designed by Philip Berman, Jonathan Paarman, Du Toit Yacht Design, and Anton Du Toit, and built by Balance Catamarans since 2025. It is a high-performance catamaran offered in three carbon/epoxy construction versions: Carbon Cross, Carbon Cross+, and Carbon XP. The Carbon Cross+ variant includes a carbon coach roof, cockpit, foredeck, and transoms, while the Carbon XP features full carbon construction with 100% epoxy resin. The Balance 540 has a displacement of 14,500 kg and can be equipped with VersaDrive Hybrid propulsion options, including 2x 15 kW / 2x 20hp Integral E-Drive or 2x 34 kW / 2x 45 hp Yanmar diesel engines. Its sail plan includes a 115.91 m2 main sail, a 64.54 m2 working genoa, a 250.15 m2 asymmetric spinnaker, and a 142.74 m2 screacher.
