Its fin keel and spade rudder design contribute to a displacement of 8942 kg. Aboard *Sailing Northern Brees*, Marie and Erin transitioned from a 27-foot Mirage to a 1982 Baltic 42, which they acquired in Rhode Island in 2019.3:17 They spent the COVID-19 pandemic on Lake Erie, replacing plumbing and rebuilding the teak deck, noting the boat's poor performance in short chop but confirming its offshore capabilities.4:00 Their transatlantic passage from St. John's, Newfoundland, to Narsarsuaq, Greenland, took six days through continuous fog, guided by a weather router.7:33 They used survival suits, a VHF PLB, jack lines, tethers, and a cockpit enclosure for safety.12:39
