The Leopard 47 is a fractional sloop catamaran designed by Morrelli and Melvin, built by Robertson and Caine from 2002 to the present, with a length overall of 14.3 meters and a displacement of 10,169 kg. It is also known as the Moorings 4700, a charter variant. Aboard Ann-Elin Synnes, a 1991 Leopard 47 showed significant interior wear from charter use, including crooked cabinetry and warped doors, suggesting that heavily chartered older models may require extensive restoration.4:05 Sam Holmes Sailing inspected a 2003 Leopard 47 at Safe Harbor Marina in Fajardo, Puerto Rico.6:49 The Leopard 45, a similar model, features 50-horsepower engines with shaft drives positioned forward of the hatches and a mast with a base sleeve, an engine configuration that keeps machinery clear of cockpit hatches for easier maintenance.2:52
