The Maxi Yachts 108 is a 10.8-meter masthead sloop designed by Pelle Petterson and built by Maxi Yachts and Borjesson Brothers from 1979 to 1984. It features a fin keel with a spade rudder, a 3.4-meter beam, a 1.8-meter draft, and displaces 6500 kg. Aboard 59° North Sailing, August Sandberg recounted an incident involving a Maxi 108 where a crew member nearly fell overboard while deploying a stern anchor over its reverse-raked stern.17:49
