The Moody 54 is a 16.4-meter cutter-rigged sailboat designed by Bill Dixon and built by A. H. Moody, Son Ltd. between 2000 and 2004. It features a fin keel with a rudder on a skeg, a beam of 4.8 meters, and a draft of 1.8 meters, displacing 20,017 kg. The 2000 Moody 54 *Tamdhu*, a single-owner vessel, underwent a 2022 refit of its primary mechanical systems, including a 2024 generator overhaul and a 2023 battery bank replacement. *Tamdhu* utilizes a non-teak deck finish for reduced maintenance and a Solent rig with a self-tacking jib and electric in-mast furling, with all sails replaced in 2020.4:24 Its cockpit includes electric winches and Raymarine electronics, mirrored at the chart table.5:13 Below deck, the layout accommodates seven people in three cabins and a pilot berth, featuring a galley with dual fridge-freezer units and a pass-through window.6:31 Alex Rosén, a Norwegian sailor, is considering a Moody 54 for long-distance family cruising, favoring its deck saloon configuration.35:53
