The Pearson Yachts 27 (TRITON 27) is an 8.2-meter masthead sloop designed by Doug Peterson and built by Pearson Yachts in 1984–1985. It has a fin keel with a spade rudder, a beam of 2.9 meters, a draft of 1.6 meters, and displaces 2834 kg. Pearson acquired the molds from US Yachts, a Bayliner division, and the design is similar to the earlier US 27 and distantly related to Peterson's 1975 IOR 1/2 ton CHASER 29. A notable feature is its shoal draft of 1.07 meters.4:41 Aboard *Atom Voyager*, a Pearson Triton 28's UV-degraded dodger windows were replaced with marine-quality clear vinyl for under $20, using a Sailrite Ultrafeed LSZ-1 machine and specific sewing techniques. *Knot Your Average Boat* reviewed the Pearson Triton 28 as an affordable bluewater hull, noting its balsa-cored deck requires a soft-spot survey.0:12
