Design & history
The Starwind 18 is the same boat as the Buccaneer 18, a daysailer/trailer-sailer design produced by multiple builders from 1968 through 2000 and later revived by Nickels Boatworks in 2008, which merged with WindRider in 2015.
Same design as the Buccaneer 18; no designer named in the notes.
Chrysler Corporation built approx. 4000 boats (1968-1980, hull #1-#4050). Texas Marine International (TMI) built approx. 700 (1981-1982, #4051-#4750). Wellcraft Marine Corporation, Starwind Division built approx. 250 (1982-1984, #4751-#5000). Gloucester Yachts built 59 (1985-1986, #5001-#5059, sold as GLOUCESTER 18). Cardinal Yachts built 28+ (1987-2000, #5060-#5065, #5100-#5106, #5200-#521x). Nickels Boatworks became official builder in 2008 and merged with WindRider in 2015.
