The Swan 56 is a 17.5-meter masthead sloop performance cruiser designed by German Frers and built by Nautor from 1996 to 2006. It features a fin keel with a bulb and a spade rudder, displacing 19,504 kg. A racing-oriented variant, the SWAN 56R, was also available. Several Swan 56s have been maintained for both regatta racing and offshore cruising, with *Noonmark VI* having competed in three Swan Worlds and the Sydney Hobart race. *AKARANA*, a 2000-built model, features a Hall Spars carbon rig and a Hugh Wellborn keel with a bulb, reducing its draft to 2.85 meters. *Noonmark VI*, a 1998 model, was built to MCA Category Zero standards and features a Formula anodized aluminum rig with rod rigging updated in 2019. *Magical*, a 1999 Swan 56, retains its original ownership and features a 2009 Hall Spars carbon rig and North 3DL cruising sails. *Tenacity*, hull number 021, delivered in 2002, has remained under single-family ownership and features a carbon rig installed in 2008.3:20 Many models feature twin cockpit arrangements, teak decks (often replaced), and B&G instrumentation.1:05 Interiors commonly include honey teak joinery, leather or Alcantara upholstery, and well-equipped galleys.6:23 Yanmar engines are standard, often supported by Westerbeke generators and watermakers.12:20
