Steve continues interior construction on the wooden boat *Arabella*, focusing on the aft bulkhead, head layout, and galley counter.0:03 He mocks up the head area using cardboard to ensure adequate knee room and space for a portable, foot-pump-pressurized shower.4:38 To improve draft, he plans a straight chimney run for the wood stove, positioning the stove doors fore-and-aft to prevent accidental opening while the boat heels.14:29

For the galley counter, Steve and his team perform a large-scale glue-up of wooden blocks using a two-part epoxy process.17:57 They apply a thin coat for initial adhesion followed by a thickened mixture of epoxy and sawdust to fill gaps and shakes.18:37 Because the epoxy’s working time is limited to 45 minutes, they complete the glue-up in three separate installments rather than one.20:54 The project also involves installing a stainless steel surround near the wood stove to contain potential hot ash spills.13:49
