Qué cubre este vídeo
The owner of the 10-year rebuild project *Brupeg*, a former fishing trawler, fabricates a temporary exhaust stack and repairs the keel cooling system for a Kubota D1803 generator. To mount the muffler, he welds stainless steel straps to the body to minimize heat transfer to the engine mounts and adds a top brace to prevent resonance.0:46 Because the original muffler is mild steel, he coats the assembly in high-temperature ceramic paint to delay corrosion. He also addresses a leaking radiator cap assembly by silver soldering the stainless steel welds to ensure a seal.
The generator utilizes two schedule 40 steel keel cooling pipes that run under the hull to dissipate heat. After flushing stagnant water from the pipes, he attempts to connect them using silicone hoses and hose clamps, but the pitted, rusted surface of the steel pipes prevents a watertight seal. He abandons the hose clamp method in favor of welding custom steel fittings to create a permanent, leak-proof connection. The project concludes with the generator cooling system ready for coolant, though the owner plans to replace the temporary mild steel components with custom aluminum and stainless steel parts in the future.
