Leading the Escapade · vídeo

Qué cubre este vídeo

The crew of Escapade, a liveaboard sailboat in West Palm Beach, Florida, tears out the portside saloon cabinetry and begins a full rebuild after a leaking freezer rotted the nav table area's structural wood.1:15 During demolition they also find a mushroom growing under the floor — confirming the rot had spread further than expected.5:19 The nav table, which the crew never used, is removed entirely; the replacement design adds open shelves, a drawer system, and a lowered fridge enclosure that levels with the surrounding furniture, freeing the former nav seat for camera and editing gear storage.2:59 Templates for the new cabinet panels are cut from builder's paper aboard, then taken to World Panel Products in Riviera Beach, Florida, where staff member Chase helps select a half-inch teak veneer marine plywood (BS1088-grade Okume core) and provides workshop access with a circular saw and track system — a significant advantage over cutting with a jigsaw on the boat.14:18 Panels are laid out on a single sheet to match grain direction, cut, dry-fitted aboard, and confirmed near-perfect on the first test.17:54 Floor replacement and cushion fabrication are deferred to the next episode.21:05 Templating cabinet panels before cutting floor templates prevents mismatched dimensions when both surfaces change simultaneously.
