Qué cubre este vídeo
The conversion of a former fishing trawler into an expedition vessel requires the fabrication and alignment of custom stabilizer wing sliders. To determine the geometry for the stabilizer arms, the crew mounts two M30 studs to the deck and uses a 38mm stainless steel pipe as a temporary test pin to simulate the pivot point.9:02 Because the stabilizer wings are not square, the team must recess the sliders into the vessel's roof structure, necessitating a 50mm to 100mm trim of the roofline to ensure a snug fit.14:59 The current manual winching setup prevents the wings from retracting fully against the hull, so the crew plans to replace these with 24-volt electric winches mounted on the wheelhouse.28:38 Additional work includes sealing internal wooden walls with epoxy to prevent rot from condensation and preparing a 120-pound Danforth anchor for use as a stern anchor.27:43 The project remains in the fabrication phase, with the team focusing on aligning the arm geometry before finalizing the permanent mounting plates.
