Qué cubre este vídeo
An Etap 38i sailing from A Coruña to Porto de Corme, Spain, navigates coastal waters in 15 to 25 knots of wind. The crew departs A Coruña to avoid forecasted 40-knot gusts, completing the 40-nautical-mile passage under mainsail and genoa in 7 to 8 knots of wind. Upon arrival at the Porto de Corme anchorage, they anchor in 7 meters of water at low tide, deploying 30 meters of chain on a sandy bottom. The crew utilizes a Raymarine Axiom chartplotter for anchor watch, noting its reliability and consistent GPS signal compared to mobile phone applications. Electrical power is managed via 400 watts of solar panels, which maintain battery levels above 90 percent despite the continuous operation of two refrigerators and the chartplotter. To prevent losing buckets overboard, the skipper attaches a small float and handle to the bucket’s lanyard, allowing for easy retrieval with a boat hook if it sinks. The crew also experiments with a solar-heated water bag for outdoor showers and manages propane consumption while seeking local gas refills.
