To prevent losing buckets overboard, the skipper attaches a small float and handle to the bucket’s lanyard, allowing for easy retrieval with a boat hook if it sinks. The crew also experiments with a solar-heated water bag for outdoor showers and manages propane consumption while seeking local gas refills.
