The Elan Yachts E5 is a performance-oriented fractional sloop, designed by Rob Humphreys of Humphreys Yacht Design, built by Elan Yachts from 2014 to the present. Formerly the Elan 400, it was rebranded as the E5 in 2014 and features a fin with bulb and dual rudders. The E5 measures 12.0 meters LOA, with a 3.9-meter beam, 2.4-meter draft, and displaces 7766 kg. Elan Yachts constructs its boats in Begunje, Slovenia, using vacuum infusion for hulls and a fully tabbed "spider" frame system for structural rigidity.ver The shipyard produces its own interior furniture and vacuum-glued teak decking in-house.16:25 The E5 is available with a standard Yanmar 3YM30AE 29 hp engine or an optional Yanmar 4JH45 45 hp engine. A performance-enhanced variant, the Elan S5, was also produced with weight reduction in the hull, deck, and interior.
