Crew work on sailboat EVA’s hardtop in turquoise waters

¿Qué cubre este video?

Brett and Jade Evans install a custom dinghy davit system integrated into the carbon fiber hardtop of their sailboat while anchored in the Bahamas. The design features internal conduits and pulleys that route Dyneema lines from the hardtop to the cockpit winches. To mount the hardware, they drill through the hardtop, which includes pre-installed marine plywood backing blocks for structural integrity.14:38 They secure low-friction rings using epoxy mixed with silica, creating a structural "donut" around the mounting holes.2:45 After failing to fish the lines through the internal pulleys using steel wire, they successfully use a smaller intermediary line to guide the Dyneema through the conduit.18:32 The system successfully lifts the dinghy out of the water, confirming the mechanical design of the davits, pulleys, and locking clutches.24:10 The project concludes with the davits operational, leaving the final painting of the hardtop for a subsequent phase.
