Before finalizing the series connections, the host balances the batteries by charging each unit individually to full capacity. The crew also completes a 60-day provisioning run and addresses minor maintenance tasks, including clearing a blocked drain in the rain catchment system. Balancing batteries individually before connecting them in series prevents cell degradation and ensures a healthier, longer-lasting electrical bank.
