¿Qué cubre este video?
Sven Yrvind performs maintenance on his 5.9-meter boat, including moving a hatch forward by approximately six centimeters and installing new combing to receive glue. The work involves preparing epoxy and wood for a gimbal assembly.
The narrative shifts to a 1959 account of Yrvind fleeing Sweden to avoid a prison sentence. He hitchhiked to Hamburg, Germany, and secured passage on a small cargo vessel bound for London. Upon arrival, he navigated British immigration by borrowing 10 pounds from a crewmate to meet the minimum funds requirement for a one-month stay. While in London, he was briefly detained by police during a manhunt for a policeman’s killer, but was released after showing his passport. He later joined a United Nations Association volunteer project in Birmingham, where he worked on construction and was eventually appointed work leader. He received legal assistance from Robin Howard, a lawyer and war veteran, who successfully appealed his visa status with the Home Office. Yrvind later performed volunteer construction work in Austria for Hungarian refugees before returning to Sweden.
