The process encounters setbacks when humidity and cold temperatures cause the mold release to fail, forcing the host to strip and reapply the finish multiple times. Simultaneously, the host performs a complete rewire of the boat’s 12-volt system, installing five new, larger batteries in a reclaimed tub space and organizing all connections through new positive and negative bus bars and a shunt. To manage the upcoming passage to Fiji, the host recruits two Patreon supporters as crew to assist with the week-long transit. The refit work continues in a chilly, humid environment as the host prepares the vessel for departure.
