The crew of Jibsea is performing various interior and exterior upgrades while docked in Virginia, including installing 12-volt LED strip lighting in the saloon and cockpit to improve ambiance and visibility.1:55 To enhance night sailing and anchorage navigation, they are mounting 4x4 rock lights as spreader lights and spotlights.3:22 These lights are wired using existing, unused conductors from a legacy mast-top Wi-Fi antenna cable to avoid drilling new holes in the deck-stepped mast.5:58 The installation includes isolating the metal light housings with PVC tape and Lanicote to prevent galvanic corrosion.7:30 Additional projects include building custom cabinetry to house a new air fryer-toaster appliance in the galley.11:54 The crew plans to depart for the Caribbean for the winter season before heading north in the spring to cruise Newfoundland, Greenland, Iceland, the Faroes, and Scotland.13:34 They are currently waiting for a final, undisclosed piece of new cruising equipment before departing the dock.12:35
