Ce que couvre cette vidéo

The crew of the catamaran Nahoa discovered three broken strands on their starboard shroud while anchored in the Tuamotus, French Polynesia.11:08 Because a 1x19 wire shroud loses strength exponentially as strands fail, the crew identified the rigging as being on the brink of catastrophic failure.11:35 They opted to replace the shroud rather than risk a mast collapse during a passage.12:26 Lacking a spare, they contacted a rigger in Tahiti to manufacture a replacement.14:24 To ensure accurate sizing, they measured the existing shroud using Dyneema line as a template, marking the length while the mast remained under tension.15:15 The crew also managed logistics for fuel and propane in a remote atoll, utilizing Beachmaster wheels to transport heavy jerrycans from town to their dinghy.20:30 They noted that finding the rigging damage while at anchor in a populated area was fortunate compared to discovering it mid-ocean.13:17 The repair process remains ongoing as they await the new component from Tahiti.22:31
