Ce que couvre cette vidéo

Standing rigging on the sailing catamaran Escapade, 14 years old and due for replacement before a Pacific crossing, is removed and replaced stay by stay with the mast still stepped in Miami.0:04 The crew measured each stay in West Palm Beach using Dyneema line as a substitute tape measure, photographed swaged stem ball fittings at the spreaders, and climbed the mast to identify the internal cap shroud fitting before placing an order through Sailing Services Miami.1:11 New wire was ordered one foot longer than measured to allow final trimming on the boat; Staloc mechanical fittings were installed on the lower ends by hand, eliminating the need for a hydraulic swaging tool.3:01 A seized pin on the cap shroud required Corrosion X and a soak before it freed.9:47 The forestay replacement revealed a furling system with shot bearings, an oblong-spinning head swivel, and a persistent S-bend in the foil that a previous forestay replacement in Turkey had failed to correct, prompting an unplanned furler upgrade.31:12 Boatlife sealant was injected into each Staloc fitting to block moisture from entering the wire strands.23:13 Rigger Scott from Sailing Services Miami assisted on-site.26:49 Ordering wire slightly long and using Staloc fittings makes a full standing rigging replacement achievable without professional swaging equipment.
