Ce que couvre cette vidéo
The crew of the 53-foot sailboat SV Delos departs La Paz, Mexico, to begin a 3,000-nautical-mile passage across the South Pacific toward the Marquesas Islands.1:34 Shortly after departure, the crew identifies a coolant leak on the main Volvo engine caused by a hose rubbing against the alternator.8:14 They perform an emergency repair using self-fusing silicone rescue tape rather than returning to port.8:31 The crew, which includes a toddler, manages the vessel through light winds and motor-sailing conditions while navigating around the southern tip of Baja California near Cabo San Lucas.11:32 During the transit, they encounter a large pod of dolphins and catch a large jack, which they fillet and prepare for dinner.13:22 The passage involves balancing engine maintenance, meal preparation in calm seas, and childcare routines for a long-duration offshore voyage. The crew successfully transitions to sailing as they clear the coast and head into the open ocean.19:28
