Raffaella Marozzini and her husband Giovanni have circumnavigated the globe aboard *Obi-Wan*, a 39-foot Belgian-built Dufour 39.6:25 The vessel features a foam-core construction designed to be unsinkable, a critical safety feature for their long-term cruising.14:24 To fund their lifestyle, the couple rents out their homes in Italy while living aboard, supplemented by occasional charter work and shared expenses with friends who join them on passages. Their journey began in 2015 from their home port in Italy, following a traditional trade-wind route through the Mediterranean, the Caribbean, the Panama Canal, and across the Pacific.3:54 During the COVID-19 pandemic, the couple faced a two-year separation from their boat, which was left in Bundaberg, Australia, while they remained in New Zealand and later Italy.22:36 They eventually returned to Australia in 2022 to perform extensive maintenance, including battery replacement and deep cleaning, before continuing their voyage toward Thailand.29:54 Marozzini has documented these experiences in several books, including *Barefoot, Windswept and Sun-kissed*, which details their life at sea and the challenges of long-term cruising.5:12
