A downwind sail from Anagata to Jost Van Dyke on day five of a BVI charter trip covers roughly four miles of easy sailing at over seven knots in 10-knot winds aboard a 2023 Fontainebleau Alba 45 chartered through Sailogy.com.2:29 Bobby jibes to enter the east-end bay, pulling the mainsheet tight before the turn, then easing the traveler and mainsheet after completing it.3:01 The crew picks up a white mooring ball at the east end — white balls in the BVI are first-come, first-served; orange balls are reserved.4:29 Lunch at Foxy's Taboo is followed by a 15–20 minute hike from the restaurant's back to the Bubbly Pool, a natural rock formation where waves break over rocks into a sheltered pool; on low-swell days it is calm and safe, but rough days make it hazardous.8:18 The crew then sails four miles to Cane Garden Bay on Tortola's north end, picking up a reserved orange mooring ball before sunset.10:58 Cane Garden Bay's beach has soft white sand, multiple beach clubs, and restaurants including Myatt's; swell wraps into the bay, making dinghy landings difficult, but a dinghy dock extends well offshore.12:50 Bobby also announces a January 31st drawing to win his CT-56 Naughty Dogs.14:20
