Cosa tratta questo video

Florida's new anchoring legislation threatens cruisers transiting the East Coast and heading to the Bahamas. Senate Bill 594, which would have imposed a 5,000-foot no-anchoring zone around major seaports including Port of Miami, Tampa Bay, Jacksonville, and Palm Beach, was indefinitely postponed. Senate Bill 164 passed 37–0, creating a free long-term anchoring permit required for vessels anchored 14 days or more within a 30-day period within one nautical mile of an anchorage point, while also increasing penalties for derelict vessel violations. Lady K explains the permit rule creates practical problems for cruisers waiting on mooring ball availability — Boot Key Harbor and other popular Florida harbors routinely have wait lists exceeding two weeks — or holding for a safe offshore weather window to the Bahamas. The legislation's driving force is pressure from waterfront homeowners in areas like Miami Beach, Fort Lauderdale, and Naples, not just derelict boat concerns. Lady K argues that restricting Florida anchorages forces East Coast cruisers to bypass the state entirely, turning the standard Miami-to-Bimini hop into a longer offshore passage from the Carolinas. Advocacy organizations cited include BoatUS, CRNNA, SSCA, MTOA, and AGLCA.
