Adriano Plotzky and guest Armando "Buda" discuss the realities of long-term liveaboard life, focusing on the challenges of sailing with pets and the evolution of their vessels.3:45 Armando, who has lived aboard for a decade with his dog Pirata, notes that the physical decline of an aging pet is the most difficult aspect of the lifestyle, often limiting cruising plans due to the animal's health needs.4:51 The conversation transitions to technical upgrades on a BB36, including the installation of a hydraulic steering system that eliminates cables and an expanded 700-liter water capacity with a rainwater collection system integrated into the solar panel array.5:51

Armando recounts an early, formative solo passage from Guarujá to Cananeia aboard a Hobie Cat 14.6:44 Lacking modern weather forecasting or navigation tools, he faced a severe storm in the Bay of Santos, capsized in the surf at Ilha Comprida, and relied on local assistance to transport his damaged boat across the island.7:11 The segment concludes with a product highlight of a new Remar inflatable dinghy, emphasizing its reinforced towing points and integrated lifting lugs for davit systems.16:25
