Hva denne videoen dekker

After being forced out of St. George's anchorage by the Coast Guard, Khiara and Adam on the Tayana Vancouver 42 Millennial Falcon spent an extended period at Grand Mal, Grenada, completing a major refit: engine realignment, Sigma Drive installation, engine repaint, manual bilge pump overhaul, new turning blocks and clutch blocks at the mast base and cockpit, and an Isotherm Cruise 130 fridge installation.▶ 1:02 On their first sail out to Mont Rouge — a shallow anchorage with 6–7 feet under the keel and good holding — a fouled, unpainted propeller caused vibration and noise.▶ 5:27 Diving on the hull, Adam found the cutlass bearing worn and the zinc completely consumed after roughly four months.▶ 9:16 His diagnosis: the previous misaligned shaft had worn a groove in the cutlass bearing rubber; after realignment, the shaft now runs a different path, exposing the gap.▶ 9:16 Calcium carbonate buildup on the stationary shaft during the refit likely accelerated the wear.▶ 10:07 A haul-out was booked, then cancelled after fellow cruiser Craig inspected the movement — estimated at about one millimetre — and advised against hauling.▶ 17:20 A full-power test run to 7 knots with the prop feathering cleanly under sail confirmed the boat was sailable.▶ 18:43 The crew decided to continue to Carriacou and reassess.▶ 19:13 The lesson: after correcting a long-standing shaft misalignment, replace the cutlass bearing preemptively, before symptoms appear.
