The Tayana VANCOUVER 42 is a Robert B. Harris-designed cutter-rigged sailboat built by Tayana, Ta Yang Yacht Building Co. Ltd. since 1979, offered in both aft and center cockpit configurations. With a fin keel and rudder on skeg, the 12.7-meter LOA vessel displaces 13,225 kg.19:02 Aboard *Millennial Falcon*, a Tayana VANCOUVER 42, the crew has sailed from St. Martin to Bermuda, maintaining 6-7 knots in 18-knot beam winds, and from the Azores to Madeira through 13-20 knots and 2-meter seas.6:00 They use a Hydrovane for self-steering and to reduce battery consumption, and they monitor its A-bracket for loose bolts.8:47 The crew employs a bridle system to align the bow into beam swells at anchor, finding it more effective than stern-anchoring maneuvers.9:48 They perform routine maintenance such as rebedding leaky windows, removing rust from aluminum toe rails with Ospho, and polishing bronze hatches with Brasso.7:38 Before haul-out, they clean the hull and anchor chain in the water and adjust a loose alternator belt.7:31
