Hva denne videoen dekker
Refurbishment of the wooden schooner Yabá continues in a shipyard in southern Brazil, with the crew focusing on completing the starboard side framing. Carpenters are currently installing the final frames, a process that requires precise beveling to ensure the pieces sit flush against the transom and stern post. The team uses templates to expedite the cutting and installation process, allowing for the completion of approximately four frames per day when materials are available. While the port side framing is finished, the starboard side remains the primary work area, with only eight frames left to install before planking begins. The crew notes that saltwater exposure preserved the original floor timbers, while rainwater caused rot in the upper beams and frames. Additionally, the project features a demonstration of a closed-loop freshwater engine cooling system installed on a neighboring vessel, which utilizes external copper pipes to dissipate heat without drawing raw seawater into the engine.
