A severe thunderstorm with high winds strikes Biscayne Bay, Miami, causing Epiphany to drag anchor several hundred feet.3:00 During the peak of the squall, the boat heels to 45 degrees, forcing the operator to engage the engine and motor into the wind to prevent grounding in shallow water and to avoid nearby channel markers.5:38 Multiple other vessels in the anchorage also drag during the event.3:11 The boat was initially held by a 65-lb Lewmar Claw and a 65-lb CQR, both of which failed to hold in the extreme conditions.4:49 Once the storm passes, the crew retrieves both anchors and replaces them with a single 73-lb Rocna.7:38 After resetting the new anchor, the crew performs a full-throttle reverse test to confirm the set.8:09 The boat remains stationary under high load, confirming the new ground tackle is secure.8:32
