The C&C Yachts 39 is a 12.0-meter masthead sloop designed by Cuthertson, Cassian, and C&C Design, built by C&C Yachts between 1971 and 1974. It features a fin keel with a spade rudder, a 3.5-meter beam, 1.9-meter draft, and displaces 7711 kg. Aboard *Epiphany*, a C&C 39, the crew installed a SeaWater Pro modular watermaker, which produces 20 gallons per hour at 800–900 PSI, drawing 1,000 watts from solar-charged batteries. *Epiphany* uses a 12.5-foot Bree inflatable dinghy with a 9.9-horsepower Mercury outboard for shore access.12:45 The crew of *Epiphany* anchors in locations like Hatchet Bay Harbor, Bahamas, which they describe as highly protected.watch They practice water conservation, using a one-quart freshwater rinse for cockpit showers after a saltwater wash. *Epiphany* successfully rode out Hurricane Milton at anchor in Biscayne Bay by managing fetch and anchoring position.6:08 The crew replaced failing baby stays after discovering broken wire strands and cracked crimped fittings, fabricating new ones in Miami and tensioning them to 12 percent of breaking strength.0:06 They also replaced a rotted exhaust mixing elbow on their Universal Diesel M-25 engine, a common failure point.0:44
