O que este vídeo aborda

A 1985 Island Packet 27 offers a low-cost alternative to traditional housing, with a purchase price around $20,000.0:16 The vessel features a full keel, teak and holly flooring, a wet head, and a Yanmar diesel engine with approximately 1,000 hours.3:40 Living space includes a settee, a quarter berth, and a v-berth.2:52 The galley utilizes an alcohol stove, which avoids the insurance complications associated with propane systems.0:49

The primary structural concern for this model involves the original 304 stainless steel chain plates, which are prone to hidden corrosion and failure after 20 to 25 years.4:58 Because these components are encapsulated in fiberglass, inspection is difficult.5:32 Owners can replace the factory system for approximately $18,000 or install external chain plates to bypass the encapsulated design.6:37 While the boat provides a functional, mobile living space, prospective buyers must account for the potential cost and labor of addressing chain plate degradation to ensure rig integrity.
