A severe squall 40 miles offshore causes the boat to heel sharply, tearing the mainsail and knocking over an auxiliary panel. The sailor manages the vessel using a quadruple-reefed main and a partial jib while dodging anchored bulk carriers near the harbor entrance. Upon arrival at the Zululand Yacht Club, the sailor completes customs formalities and secures a berth. The stopover includes maintenance on the damaged mainsail and jib, followed by a land-based excursion to Mkuze Game Reserve in KwaZulu-Natal. The passage concludes with the sailor successfully navigating the Richards Bay channel after receiving clearance from port control.
