The crew manages to produce enough water to fill the tanks before the inverter becomes unreliable. Despite initial forecasts of a downwind run, the passage involves significant upwind sailing in 10 to 20 knots of wind, with boat speeds reaching 7.9 knots on a beam reach. The crew decides to bypass a planned anchorage due to unfavorable wind angles and continues directly toward Spain. They maintain power and water production by running the engine and monitoring the failing electrical system.
