Bamboo construction is treated with borax to prevent insect damage and reinforced internally with concrete-filled steel. A separate practical segment covers repairing a torn inflatable dinghy using a cut patch, a Dremel to scuff the surface, alcohol wipes in place of acetone, and contact cement applied in two thin coats before a 24-hour cure.
