A huge mistake...

What this video covers

Refitting a Cape George Cutter 36 involves extensive hull and interior work, including extending the waterline and refinishing the overhead. To prevent future osmosis and grime buildup, the crew is prepping the hull for an epoxy barrier coat after professional soda blasting. During the installation of new through-hulls, a mistake occurred when epoxy seeped into the threads, permanently bonding the through-hull to the seacock. After breaking the fitting's internal ears while attempting removal, the crew successfully extracted the assembly by grinding away the external portion, allowing the seacock to be salvaged. Separately, the crew replaced a cutlass bearing by sawing through the metal sleeve to collapse it, avoiding the need for a threaded rod puller. Interior work focuses on varnishing the overhead beams and painting the ceiling panels using Epifanus products to maintain the vessel's aesthetic. The project emphasizes balancing structural necessity with the interior design's visual quality to ensure the living space remains inspiring.
