Design & history

The Doug Peterson-designed Chaser 29 and its prototype won back-to-back Half Ton Worlds in 1974 and 1975. Bayliner later bought the tooling and produced an unauthorized derivative, the Buccaneer 295.

Design

Designed by Doug Peterson; the prototype was named "North Star." The production model "Foxy Lady" followed the prototype's success.

Production

Bayliner bought the tooling at auction and produced the Buccaneer 295 with a different deck and coachroof. These were unauthorized copies, never approved by designer Doug Peterson.
