The Com-Pac Yachts 27/2 is a masthead sloop designed by Robert K. Johnson and built by Com-Pac Yachts, Hutchins Co., from 1988 to the present. It shares the same hull as the original Com-Pac 27 but features an increased sail area, from 328 sq ft to 380 sq ft. The boat measures 9.0 m LOA, with a 2.9 m beam, 1.1 m draft, and displaces 2721 kg. The Hutchins Company, based in Clearwater, Florida, has manufactured Com-Pac sailboats for over 50 years, using hand-laid fiberglass construction and maintaining in-house metal and wood shops.watch The current 27/3 model, introduced around 2010, further upgrades the design with stainless steel hardware and portholes. A used Com-Pac 27 can be found for around $6,000, making it a potentially valuable option for gunk-holing if the diesel engine and hull are sound.4:22
